Alex Teece is currently the Chief Education Officer and School Leader of DreamHouse 'Ewa Beach, Hawai‘i’s newest and fastest-growing public charter school. A member of the founding team, Alex has worked closely with community leaders, educators, parents, children, and stakeholders to launch DreamHouse. He is responsible for overseeing the academic, organizational, and financial performance of the school, working closely with his school team, the school governing board, and the DreamHouse non-profit to ensure student and school success.
Prior to DreamHouse, Alex held roles in education, finance, and non-profit organizations. He has experience in educational leadership, non-profit, banking, fundraising, and teaching. Additionally, he recently founded a consulting company to assist organizations and groups interested in founding charter schools in the State of Hawai‘i. His passion lies at the intersection of business and education and has consistently found ways to inspire public-private partnerships in an effort to benefit families, communities, and organizations in the Hawaiian Islands and beyond.
Alex holds five degrees from higher education institutions covering business, education, and leadership. He graduated from Ithaca College and holds masters degrees from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, the University of Rochester, and Harvard University. He earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in July 2020, with his dissertation focusing on starting new charter schools in Hawai‘i.
In his personal life, Alex recently became a father and enjoys spending time with his son, wife, and black lab around the Hawaiian Islands while looking forward to travelling more and seeing family and friends on the mainland.
