About this Speaker

Robert Harrison is the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Hawaiian, Inc. and First Hawaiian Bank. Prior to being named Chief Executive Officer in 2012, he served as Chief Operating Officer of First Hawaiian Bank from December 2009 to January 2012 and as its President from December 2009 to June 2015. He was named Vice Chairman in 2007 and served as the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer from 2006 to 2009. He was elected to First Hawaiian Bank’s Board of Directors in December 2009 and appointed to the bank’s holding company board, First Hawaiian, Inc. in April 2016. He has been a member of the Bank’s Senior Management Committee since January 2006. He serves as Chairman of First Hawaiian Leasing, Inc. a subsidiary of the Bank, and First Hawaiian Bank Foundation, the charitable arm of the Bank. Mr. Harrison joined First Hawaiian Bank in 1996 and has over 30 years of financial industry experience working for banks in New York and Hawaii. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Pacific Guardian Life, Hawaii Bankers Association, Hawaii Business Roundtable, Hawaii Community Foundation, Maryknoll Foundation and is Chairman of Hawaii Medical Service Association, the independent licensee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association in Hawaii. He served in the U.S. Navy before earning a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from Cornell University in New York.
