George Yarbrough is an entrepreneur dedicated to impact. He started Hub Coworking Hawaiʻi (formerly known as Impact Hub Honolulu) and a boutique wastewater engineering company, Laulea Engineering. Both companies strive to make a better Hawaiʻi. In his most recent role as Associate Director of Innovation and Entrepreneur Programs at the Office of Innovation and Commercialization, George is continuing his passion to support the startups and innovation ecosystem in Hawai’i. His past professional experiences include Operation Smile, a global charity that gives free surgeries to those who suffer with cleft lip and cleft palates where he lived in Africa and Middle East managing the surgical programs. He then moved into the medical team response research field working with the U.S. Department of Defense Center at the Center for Excellence. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BA on economic geography and has a MS from University of Southern California in Integrated Design, Business and Technology.
